Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location submitted through a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Escambia County Criminal History does not retain or log those search terms on its own systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
When you email us, we retain the message as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive basic technical information when a page loads:
- Page-view dates and times
- Your device's IP address
- Pages viewed and the time spent on them
- Browser name and version
- Operating system and device category
- The referring site, when one is available
Cookies and Analytics

No Criminal-Record Data on File
Escambia County Criminal History does not keep, compile, or sell a database of personal criminal-record information. It explains how to reach the Escambia County Sheriff's Office, the local courts, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency Criminal Justice Information Services Division, and the ALEA Sex Offender Registry / Community Information Center. Visitor data is not assembled into a consumer report or a record about another person, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy policies, rather than this policy, govern information entered in those tools. Each partner controls its own retention and disclosure practices. Review the applicable terms before sending a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to the Escambia County Sheriff's Office, Alabama court services, ALEA, legal resources, and outside search tools. Once you leave this site, the destination's policy applies. Check it before providing personal information.
Some advertising companies may use activity across websites to select ads. That processing occurs through their systems rather than ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Information may be available to:
- Government or law-enforcement bodies when a valid legal demand requires disclosure
- Advertising networks that serve material on the pages
- Search partners that process queries sent to their tools
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and performance
How We Protect Your Data
Standard security measures are used to protect collected information. No internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security, however, so we cannot promise that unauthorized access will never occur.
Users Under 18
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such information, we will delete it.
Your Data Rights
Rights may vary with the law that applies where you live. Alabama's Open Records Act, principally Ala. Code §§ 36-12-40 and 36-12-41, concerns public writings held by government custodians, while Ala. Code §§ 41-9-590 through 41-9-645 governs criminal-justice information access, dissemination, and correction. Those laws do not turn this private site into an Alabama records office. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Object to certain forms of processing
- Request access to personal information we retain about you
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
- Seek deletion of your information
